Directions: Light candle for 5-20 min until enough wax has melted to use. Blow out the candle before pouring wax into hands/on back. Rub Hands together and massage over the body for a calming and sensual massage. Once finished wipe the jar down with a damp cloth ready for next time.

how to care for your candles. Trimming your candle wicks

Give your candles the love and care they deserve with these easy steps to keep them happy and burning longer.

1. Before each burn, trim your wick to 5mm as this ensures it burns evenly and prevents mushrooming. If your jar goes black it is because your wick is too long. Wait until the candle cools then wipe the jar with a damp cloth to clean.

2. When burning your candle for the first time, ensure you keep it going until all the wax melts to the edge (min 1 hour)

3. Don't burn your candle for longer than 4 hours

4. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish your candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.

5. Burn your candle on a heat resistant surface.

6. Keep your burning candles away from drafts, children, pets and curtains.

7. For safety reasons stop using your candle once there is 1cm of wax left in the bottom of the jar. This avoids the metal tab burning and causing your jar to overheat and crack.

8. To keep your jar and re-use, pour boiling water into the jar and let cool. Take out the hardened wax from the top then clean the jar with warm soapy water. If you find there is too much wax and you still need to get more out - Boil a pot of water and while on the stove place the empty candle jar in the pot, keeping the water on the outside of the jar this time. Allow to boil for long enough until you see all the wax turn to liquid. Discard wax and wash with warm soapy water.

Yes, massage candles are safe to use due to the ingredients that they're made from. Our Sensual Massage Candles are made from low melt point natural butters and oils which when melted is warm to the skin and not hot. Depending how long the candle has been burning for (If over 30min) always test the temperature of the oil first, before pouring directly onto the body for a massage. Massage Candles also include essential oils or body safe premium fragrances that are added at a much lower percentage.

A massage candle is completely different to a normal candle. Unlike normal soy candles, a massage candle is made from nourishing butters and oils. This means, once melted, it turns into an oil to then pour onto the skin for a sensual erotic massage. Here at Hanson Candle Co, we use Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, 100% Natural Soy Wax and Vitamin E oil, which means after the massage, your skin will be hydrated and moisturised. Even after a shower or wipe down.

No, we don't recommend using them the same as normal candles to maximise the uses for massage. A regular candle will usually be made up of one type of wax eg, Soy wax. If you tried to pour a normal candle on your skin, it would burn you as well as harden. A massage candle will melt into an oil which then soaks into your skin and seconds as a moisturiser.
